Angel Wings for Amy

A few posts ago, I apologized for my lack of posting, and explained about the tragedy of the Ward family that has been on my mind, heart, and soul. Well, another reason I had not posted was due to my heart being heavy at the loss of a friend, and co worker, Amy. Amy was a wonderful co-worker who I had the privilege to work with each day at school. She brought about joy, compassion, and a true spirit that is already missed terribly by our staff and students. During the 14 years that I have worked by her side, I also was lucky enough to develop a friendship with her. What a blessing that was. I am grateful for her love of Jesus Christ, and I rejoice knowing that I will see her again one day.
Besides her work with elementary school kids, she enjoyed "clowning" at various nursing homes or events to brighten the days of kids and the elderly. Every year when we would end a school calendar year, Amy would ask me, "So, do you think Ellie and Reid would like to have a visit from a clown?" Needless to say, "Clown Amy" was loved at our house, and we welcomed her in year after year. In fact, she even came over and agreed to clown for about 12 neighbor kids one day at our house. It was a big undertaking, and Amy gladly accepted, and we felt so blessed by her laugh, and her joyous spirit. My hear is saddened by the loss of my dear friend, but I also rejoice for her. I am sure heaven is a little bit brighter now that Amy is spreading her love there. Miss and love you, Amy. Until we meet again, my friend.....

Not my talent...

Ellie is a pretty wonderful artist in my mind. She drew this dog line-up the other day. Can you pick out the different breeds? Among them are a golden retriever, a yorkie, a weiner dog, a schnauzer, and a collie. For a 6 year old, I am more than impressed.....and she did not get any of this from her mom!

Long time, no post...

Thank you, my friends, who have come back to see if I have posted at all. It has been some time, hasn't it? Our lives have been so consumed lately that I have not taken the time to post anything, and for that, I am sorry. I do enjoy keeping you all "posted" on all the happenings in our lives, and I was just in a complete slump. Home life, school life, kids, and just plain ole' ordinary "stuff" has bogged me down. But one thing in particular has been heavy on my chest, and I have just not felt like posting.

Almost 2 weeks ago, a terrible tragedy happened. A car accident that took a small, innocent life. My sister in law's, brother's family was involved. To make a very long story short, this tragedy took the life of little Lewis Ward, 4 mos. His mom and sister were in grave condition until quite recently. Thankfully, Carrie, the mom and driver of the car that was hit, was released from the hospital this week. Her injuries are still severe (broken pelvis, broken back, lung injury, internal bleeding), but she wanted to be near her 4 year old daughter's side who was in a nearby Children's hopsital in critical condition. Her injuries are still very severe and your prayers are appreciated. She is in an induced coma at this time, yet, and her brian to skull pressure is an issue that they are trying to get resolved. She is a very injured little girl, and I ask that you pray for little Libby. Not in the vehicle were Matthew, the dad, and Lincoln, their 2 year old. I ask for prayer for them as well, and they prepare to deal with the loss of their son and brother, and try to manage the everyday "stuff" that will all seem so different now. My heart and mind have been completely consumed and just worried for so many dimensions for this beautiful family. So, I apologize for the lack of posts, and I ask you to please pray for the Ward family tonight. I know that it has made me squeeze my own loved ones just a tad bit tighter......I thank you.
