The Cure for a Toothache.....

.....is to eat a chocolate chip cookie! As you can see, the tooth issue doesn't seem to be stopping Reid from eating at all!!!! You might be able to tell that the area above his lip to his nose is swollen from the teeth problem. I can't truly believe that he can eat with the decaying issue of the right tooth....but you all know my boy.....nothing will stop his appetite!!! Thanks so much for you love, concern, and prayers for Reid. We will keep you posted on what is to come!

New post...No pic...

Just me for a minute...no picture to post now, but I wanted to fill you all in. Reid went to the pediatrician today after he woke up with what looked to be a nice fat lip. I truly thought that he had been stung by something or had some horrible reaction to some food. He hasn't been exposed to any new foods...and it didn't look to have any mark on his lip/face from a bite or sting. So, I called the pediatrician to make an appointment and also called our cleft team to make sure they didn't need to see us. The swollen part of his face was not just the lip area but the entire area where his cleft was....in the EXACT same spot. It was so swollen, in fact, that it truly looked like his "old" look was back...he was so puffy and swollen.

So, to make a long story short....our cleft team did not need to see us because Reid had no fever, the swollen part was not red or irritated, and did not seem to look like any sort of infection related to the cleft. Ok....so our regular doctor took a good look at him and said the words....ABSCESSED TEETH. My heart dropped and my stomach ached. We knew we would get to this place...but we were hoping not so soon. His 2 top teeth in the cleft have rotted all the way through and have caused infection in the gums causing swelling. Sooooo....he was put on penicillin for 10 days and we are to call our dental team on Monday morning. Looks like we will be heading for Cleveland this week (I assume) and will see what they have to say. Most likely...surgery will be scheduled to take care of these teeth and they will be extracted. The good thing is that he does not seemed bothered by it and is eating and resting and playing as normal. What a trooper he is! Oh, and as a sidenote....our little meatball weighed in at 28 lbs. 12 ozs. today (16 mos. old). Guess he is eating fine! I will post a picture here tomorrow....but keep Reid in thought as we cross yet another bridge. Thanks so much....

Something to smile about.....

Brian, Ellie, and I will be going to a waterpark over Spring Break and leaving Reid with my parents for the night. Ellie is THRILLED to go to the waterpark...and even more THRILLED that Reid isn't going. And, yes...I am being totally serious! The above grin is what I got when I told Ellie that we were going to a hotel with a special pool.....without Reid. Ornery!

Coud it really be??? SUNSHINE????

We finally got a break in the weather and could be outside. THANK GOODNESS!!! We were having some major meltdowns and extreme cabin fever at our house....and the kids were getting out of control, too! : ) It was so nice to be outside, and we sure hope that we have more and more of these and less and less cold and snow. As you can see....Ellie and Sophie were enjoying being outside together. Sophie is so lazy...she will only stay in the shade...and it's only March! Just wait until about July!
Blowing bubbles are always fun.
Reid thought so, too! I think he just liked the mess that they made, though.
Dora the Explorer has nothing on Reid!
Little Reid and his shadow. Pretty sweet.

By-passing St. Patty's Day...

...and heading straight to Easter!
Ellie and I made an Easter Tree to have up. It is a refreshing thought to think that Spring is right around the corner....somewhere!
Here is my big helper...and yes, she wears this dress ALL the time!

And of course, look who else wanted in on the action. Climbing stools and all. Nothing but trouble!
Hurry up Spring....we are ready to greet you with open arms!!!!

Just how far.......

will toilet paper stretch?????

Reid thought he would find out tonight as I was putting laundry into the hamper in Ellie's bedroom...he snuck in the bathroom, threw the shampoo bottle in the toilet, unrolled the toilet paper, and brought it to me, all in a matter of about 40 seconds or less. How nice of him to think of his MaMa, huh? I am in deep trouble with this one folks.......deep trouble!

Welcomed Visitors...

We were all so excited that my brother and his wife were coming to stay the weekend with us! They live about 5 hours away...so this was such a special treat. Ellie and Reid adore them both and we were just thrilled that they could come spend some fun time with us!

Here is Ellie anxiously awaiting their arrival. She only asked me about every 5 minutes when Uncle Kevin and Aunt Carol would be here!!!!
Brian and Kevin went to the Auto Show in Cleveland on Saturday and brought home these hats. We have NO idea why....but every time Reid put one one, he was our little maniac man. Just going crazy. But the funny thing is....he WOULD NOT take it off. We thought he was going to sleep in it!
What a crew....Ellie, Kevin, Reid, and Brian....just relaxing.

Reid with Uncle Kevin.

Aunt Carol with Ellie and Reid.
We were blessed with a wonderful weekend with family. Love you Aunt Carol and Uncle Kevin....and please come again soon!
