Pillow Talk

As I put Ellie to bed last night, she decided to ask me 1,000,000 questions because she is really good at stalling. Really good. This time, I didn't mind. She must have had the Easter Sunday message from Sunday School still in her mind....and here is how our conversation went....

Ellie- Is Jesus alive?
Mom- Yes, he is in heaven.
Ellie- Is he strong?
Mom- Yes, very.
Ellie- Does he live on a cross or did he get down yet?
Mom- He is down now. He loves us all and watches us from heaven.
Ellie- Are his eyes open?
Mom- Yes.
Ellie- Did he die?
Mom- Yes, he did. But, he is very strong and lives in heaven now with people we love. He helps take care of them.
Ellie- How did he open his eyes if he died?
Mom- (pondering this) - Jesus is kind of like magic. He can do very special things and we are very lucky that he loves us so much.
Ellie- Does he carry you to heaven when you die?
Mom- Maybe he does.
Ellie- How do you live in heaven if you die?
Mom- If you believe in Him then you will go meet him in heaven in a long, long time. He is very nice and watches you every day.
Ellie- (long pause)
Mom- (wishing she could call Pastor John right about this time to ask him if these answers suffice!)
Ellie- I love Jesus.
Mom- (smiles) Me, too, Ellie. Me, too.

This reminds me of a similar conversation with Ella a while back.

What a sweetheart! Don't you just love four year olds?

How sweet. The passing of my brother has brought on lots of Jesus questions from Alexis. She even asked me if Jesus was in her heart and in her Uncle D's heart then now that he is gone he can come into her heart because of Jesus, so her Uncle D is with her always.

I bet you are counting down the days until summer vacation. I know all of my friends that are teachers are (and I have four of them)!! Makes me very jealous of those summers off... :o)

Hello, and welcome to my page! I am so glad you are here. I am going to try and show you the average life of a 5 year old from my perspective. Mommy and Daddy will help me along the way if I get stuck.

Let me first introduce my family to you. I am Ellie. I am a 6 year old. I live in Ohio with my Mommy, Daddy, little brother Reid, and dog, Sophie. My mommy is a teacher. She teaches nine and ten year olds and loves it. She has been teaching for twelve years. My daddy works with computers. He works hard everyday.

We all love spending time together. I have wonderful grandparents and a terrific extended family. I am a very lucky girl. Thank you for visiting my page. Write to me any time. I love getting mail!!!

Many blessing to you all.

Love,
Little Ski (Ellie)
