Hope shown in smiles

It's Ellie's mom filling in for a moment.

I want to share a website with you that is worth the time to go to. If you are a cleft parent...I know this site is old news to you, but for many of my non-cleft parent friends...this is really neat. Wide Smiles is a website dedicated to cleft kids and families. I spend time here every so often reading stories of those who have been through the day to day trials of having a child with a claft lip/palate. When I am having a hard day....or am just needing a pick me up...this is an awesome place to go. The stories shared on this site are awesome, and the pictures, even better. When you have some time...check out Wide Smiles and go to the photo gallery. Feel free to look through all the stories, or just pick a few if you wish. Any that say bilateral cleft lip and palate are kids (or adults) that are going through the same process as Reid. You will see before and after pictures of these amazing kids. I plan to put Reid's story on this site, as well, after his lip surgery in May. I have been inspired by so many on this site..and maybe our story will touch someone's life as well. Check out Wide Smiles....and be ready to be inspired. I can't go near this site without tissues nearby....so be prepared! Love to you all.

Hi! I just found your blog! Your children are really cute! I have an 11 1/2 month old who was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. He had his 1st lip repair surgery in July '07 and will have palate repair next month! His lip looked very similar to Reid's lip. I have some pictures on my blog...I'm new to blogging...but will be posting more soon! I'll be following your journey!

Hello, and welcome to my page! I am so glad you are here. I am going to try and show you the average life of a 5 year old from my perspective. Mommy and Daddy will help me along the way if I get stuck.

Let me first introduce my family to you. I am Ellie. I am a 6 year old. I live in Ohio with my Mommy, Daddy, little brother Reid, and dog, Sophie. My mommy is a teacher. She teaches nine and ten year olds and loves it. She has been teaching for twelve years. My daddy works with computers. He works hard everyday.

We all love spending time together. I have wonderful grandparents and a terrific extended family. I am a very lucky girl. Thank you for visiting my page. Write to me any time. I love getting mail!!!

Many blessing to you all.

Love,
Little Ski (Ellie)

Told ya, my hair can be wild! And you thought I was kidding!

Hmmm, Blue's Brother's perhaps?
