Reid's road to recovery...day 2 post op

It's Ellie's mom in for an update...
Look at the change in Reid. Unbelieveable! This is Reid at 3 days old. Look how wide his cleft is.

What an amazing change. This is Reid the day of surgery about 2 hours out of recovery...eating already! That's my boy!

Here is Reid today...2 days post op looking good. He is a bit swollen today, but not bad at all. His lip is clean and not seeping at all. What a little champ we have. I am blown away by all your support and love for our family. We thank you for the love, prayers, and overall outpouring of yourselves to us over the past 6 months. Reid is so blessed to have all of you on his side. We love you all, and thank you for taking this journey one step at a time with us. What a transformation we are seeing in Reid. I can't wait to see his first new smile with his new lip. It won't be long! More pictures to come soon.....

Ellie is napping right now, and I have a chance to read all the messages people have written on your site, plus read your update on Reid. You and Brian are fantastic, loving parents! We are so happy for you and Reid. Ellie is happy and having a good time. She misses you at bedtime, but we soon divert her from sadness. I (Grandma) loves sleeping next to her, and if she whimpers, I get close....soothe her and she never wakes up. She has thoroughly enjoyed Tyler's back yard...that has been a God-send. I'm ready to get a sandbox that we can cover. She loves playing in the sand. I think I even have some good pictures today. I'm about to down-load them, and I'll send any that are good through e-mail. Don't worry about your special angel...Ellie...she is doing fine, and we love her so much. Love...mom & dad

Hi--I am new to your blog--actually just linked onto it this weekend. I also have a little boy who was born w/a unilateral, complete cleft lip and palate. He has had his lip repaired and his palate surgery is July 10th. I know how hard this is, but it looks like you have plenty of support! I am working on a blog for him, so I'll pass along a link once I get it set up.

The "Ski" family is amazing!!!! I am so glad all is going well. Reid looks amazing, and although, I know you miss his 'first' face-you get to fall in love all over again.

Please let me know if I can help in any way-I know this is a tiring and emotional time. I am praying for you all!!!

Reid looks soooo good. What a trooper! And what a big sister Reid has also. I love how much she loves Reid. The "Ski's" are definately one heck of a family. You guys are awesome. You all are a blessing and a sunshine to everyone. Keep up the good work. We continue to pray everything keeps going so good!

Hello, and welcome to my page! I am so glad you are here. I am going to try and show you the average life of a 5 year old from my perspective. Mommy and Daddy will help me along the way if I get stuck.

Let me first introduce my family to you. I am Ellie. I am a 6 year old. I live in Ohio with my Mommy, Daddy, little brother Reid, and dog, Sophie. My mommy is a teacher. She teaches nine and ten year olds and loves it. She has been teaching for twelve years. My daddy works with computers. He works hard everyday.

We all love spending time together. I have wonderful grandparents and a terrific extended family. I am a very lucky girl. Thank you for visiting my page. Write to me any time. I love getting mail!!!

Many blessing to you all.

Love,
Little Ski (Ellie)
