I realize it's not Valentine's Day!
My mom really isn't that out of it. Reid is wearing his Valentine's bib because it is super absorbant...and Reid is a slobber fountain! Anyway....NO MORE NAM! Reid is just being taped until surgery...because the lip is in alignment for surgery. WOW! You can see the lip is in good placement and ready for surgery day...May 27.
Reid is happy about no more NAM! We are using it to feed still. We stick it in like a retainer...and he takes a bottle with it. I don't know how we will feed with an open palate. He likes his palate closed up...he is so used to it. We are going to need big advice when that day comes! He is well, though. We are happy!

Hello, and welcome to my page! I am so glad you are here. I am going to try and show you the average life of a 5 year old from my perspective. Mommy and Daddy will help me along the way if I get stuck.
Let me first introduce my family to you. I am Ellie. I am a 6 year old. I live in Ohio with my Mommy, Daddy, little brother Reid, and dog, Sophie. My mommy is a teacher. She teaches nine and ten year olds and loves it. She has been teaching for twelve years. My daddy works with computers. He works hard everyday.
We all love spending time together. I have wonderful grandparents and a terrific extended family. I am a very lucky girl. Thank you for visiting my page. Write to me any time. I love getting mail!!!
Many blessing to you all.
Love,
Little Ski (Ellie)

Oh my goodness - those eyes and that smile!!! You are such a beautiful little fellow (can boys be beautiful???? or just very handsome???) Watch out Brian and Janeen, between Ellie and Reid, you guys are in big trouble in a few years!!!!!!! Going to soon need a little "ski" hug fix!!
Take care,
Rhonda
What a gorgeous "wide smile"!!!
Adalynn had an open palate and did fine...he will just probably have an adjustment period. She still has two small openings even after they closed her palate and her next surgery is in just a few weeks.
I was looking at your blog (found from Shannon's blog) and I remember the first time I had to feed my daughter after her lip repair without the NAM I was so scared she did everything with the NAM in and hated when it was out (go figure) but after about 3 days she did just fine. Good luck and take lots of pictures!
